Directors, Conductors, Musicians, and other Collaborators: I have several free and professional services to offer to you and your ensembles in 2023. All initial meetings are free. Later services are often free or available freely under certain conditions which we can explore together. Generally speaking, conducting is a professional service and individual meetings are free of charge. That said, I do a number of hours of pro bono work each year in an effort to honor those who “paid it forward” in my journey.

Feel free to schedule any available time and you will receive an email confirmation and a link, or send a message and I will reply with my contact information.

GUEST CONDUCTING / CURATING / COLLABORATING / CONSULTING

My primary vocation and passion is teaching and performing great music with musicians at all levels from young students to seasoned professionals. Schedule a meeting to discuss an upcoming project.

Guest Rehearsal/Presentation/Instruction

I love chances to collaborate with other conductors. Get in touch if you would like me to conduct a rehearsal, cover a concert cycle, observe you or be observed by you in rehearsal, give a presentation, or coach a chamber music rehearsal.

Call me or set up a meeting! I would be happy to meet with your MS, HS, or University ensemble, individual students, or small groups. I have a number of specific talks/presentations/activities tailored for each individual age group, and designed for presentation online or in person. In addition, we can customize something new to fit your needs.

I also present topics of relevance to complete cohorts such as a music department, or a music education cohort, or a conducting class.

Director Counseling

Directors, are you struggling to re-build your school program in this difficult post-pandemic environment in which we find ourselves? Do you want to talk about it? Need a shoulder to cry on? How about a fellow traveler? How about a sounding board?

Do you have an idea for an online project and you want to brainstorm with someone? Would you like help moving from idea to implementation? What about technology platforms?

Maybe you'd just like someone to listen to what you're going through who understands the specific challenges we're all going through in our field.

If any of these sound like you, I've been there, and I’m here for you. Let's talk about your needs. Schedule a meeting, or use my contact page to propose a customized meeting time or discuss your needs.

Repertoire Diversity Consulting

I believe that we have a responsibility to fill the world by excellent music by a diverse, inclusive array of composers from every possible background. Classical music can only fulfill its potential when we take repertoire diversity seriously. Yet, it can be a significant challenge for many directors to find the right fit in their programming.

I am an Executive Advisory Council Member at the Institute for Composer Diversity at the State University of New York (SUNY)-Fredonia, I am a co-founder of the International Florence Price Festival, and I frequently give presentations on strategies to diversify concert repertoire for instrumental music ensembles at the professional, collegiate, community, youth orchestra, and scholastic levels. I maintain a number of thematic repertoire lists designed to aid in the programming process and knowledge of recent releases for a number of genres. Let’s talk about how to find excellent music by diverse composers that is appropriate for your ensemble.

Students

I also meet with high school, college, and graduate students for coachings. Schedule a meeting or get in touch if you believe I can be of service!
