This document, excerpted from a paper by William Malloch, charts Carl Czerny’s metronome markings for Haydn’s London Symphonies. Czerny was of course the most well-known student of Haydn. Download the pdf, which contains both pages and all 12 London symphonies, by using the download button below.

The complete article includes a number of other Mozart symphonies with tempi supplied. Of course, it is impossible to know just how well Czerny was able to convey the tempi that Haydn intended (let alone Mozart), which Malloch explores.
